So you're ready to create a social action and start supercharging your engagement on Facebook? Great! This article will walk you through it, step by step.

To get started, log into ActionSprout and select the Facebook page that you'd like to work with from the Accounts screen. 

Next open the Social Actions section of your account.

In the top right corner of your screen, click the Create Action button.

This will open a menu where you can choose which type of social action you'd like to create.

Don't worry about choosing the "wrong" action. All actions are customizable and do the same job under the hood. If you're not sure which to start with, try a petition, poll, or pledge action. These tend to perform well for a wide range of organizations and causes. 

Once you've decided which action type you'd like, click the Create button.

You'll be dropped into the Action Creation and Editing menu. At the top, you'll find a place to fill in the basic information of your social action, like Title and Call to Action.

Just to the right of this, you'll find a handy preview of the action you just built. 

Below Basics, you'll see a spot to create a thank-you message as well as privacy options, opt in/out choices, goal bars, and more.

Once you're finished creating your new social action, it's time to share it with supporters! Make sure you Save Changes, then click the green Share button.

This will open your sharing menu. At the top, you’ll find a place to schedule your action on Facebook. You’ll see which page you’re posting to, the message that you’d like to include, and when you’d like it to appear on Facebook.

That's it! Then, as supporters take action, you'll start to see results under the Activity tab of your action.
