Sure, it sounds delicious, but it's actually quite helpful. By linking your ActionSprout and Salsa accounts, you can automatically transfer the supporter data you collect here and use it over there.
To get started, log into your Salsa account. Once you're in, go get your Salsa Org Key and Salsa Node URL. (You can find them by clicking on your user icon in the upper-right corner.) Copy and paste them somewhere handy, as you'll need them soon.
Please note: Your Salsa Node URL may not end in salsalabs.com and may look like hq-salsa.wiredforchange.com. (See the example below.) It’s very important to enter the correct end node url or the connection won't work. Please contact us if you experience any difficulty. We'd be happy to help.
Now log into ActionSprout and select the Facebook page you'd like to work with from the Accounts screen.
Open the Account Settings menu and choose Integrations.
Scroll down until you find Salsa Labs in the list of available integrations. Paste in your key and node URL and click Connect to Salsa Labs.
And just like that, your Salsa and ActionSprout are connected!
Now you can data sync on a per-social-action basis, according to your needs. Just click the Edit button under any social action you'd like to sync.
Then click on Integrations.
Here you'll find a menu of your connected integrations that can sync with this action.
If you’re using a multi-chapter Salsa, you can choose to sync to a specific Chapter ID as well as to add any new Tags you'd like to the contact.
What gets synced? First names, last names, email addresses, and any other information that you're capturing as part of the action.
You can also see the ActionSprout tag that we've assigned to the supporter record as well as a tag that contains the action ID. (In the example below, it's action2637.)
